From the composer:
I am getting ready for a few new album releases. I have been writing music in different styles during the past several years and many of the songs and melodies have been on a shelf waiting for a critical number of songs for an album release. As it often happens all things come together at once . So, soon I will make official releases of a bunch of new albums:
- Last Love Tango. Although I call it lounge, each song has a clear melody line, something you don’t often find in a modern lounge. A talented work of my arranging partner Sergey Erokhin can be heard in every song.
- More Bananas. This is an album of Caribbean-island-Cuban music. One of the songs is featuring Carlos El Rumbero, one of lead singers of a great world known band Gypsy Kings. I hope that this album will take you away to a Caribbean beach where you can see yourself with a glass of martini enjoying a beautiful beach life there. I am grateful to Roberto Salaroli from Relight Orchestra for making this recording.
- The Game. This CD has several songs written jointly with my partners from LA and in London. I am happy to work for the first time with Andy Paley, a great songwriter based in LA who arranged and produced two songs – The Game and Reaching for the Moon. I am also happy that I found a remarkable singer from London Alaena Adams who co-wrote and sang another song called Dancing in the Wind which is a beautiful combination of piano and her enchanting voice.
- In Instrumental Mood. Here I gathered all my instrumental work which don’t fall into genres of my other releases like Latin, pop or lounge. All the songs may seem to have different styles, but I hope they still reflect my approach to melodic development and musical romantism. Again here as in many other albums Sergey Yerokhin’s work is great. One work, Requiem, was particularly challenging for us as we tried to refine it many times again and again.
- On my way from Brazil. My evergreen love affair with Brazilian music inspired me to write several new songs in bossa-nova style. One of the songs, Yemanja, is a song of which I am particularly proud as it is a joint work with one of the best musicians in modern Brazil, Roberto Menescal. This song became possible due to my friendship with Bernardo Bittencourt, a manager at Albatroz music, a record company which works closely with Roberto.
- In Black and White. Finally, I tried to gather together my piano work. This album has not yet been finished. In most compositions I perform my own music, but in a couple of tunes – All We Had and Searching for a Solution, I invited Mikhail Link, a well known Russian pianist and arranger who has been working with some of the icons of Russian and world music.
I hope that you will enjoy some of my work and leave your comments for me to know what you really think. Artists or lyricist who may be inspired by some of the melodies are welcome to contact me for some ideas for a joint work.
If you like to stay in touch, leave me your contact info to keep you posted on my new development.
